Judy Young is a registered teacher who has worked in the secondary, tertiary and VET education systems in teaching, administrative and management roles, in Victoria and South Australia. Judy also worked as the Professional Officer for the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia (Vic Branch) for many years. Judy is experienced in policy development, governance, risk and compliance, staff development and coaching. Judy has a Bachelor of Science (Education), a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from The University of Melbourne, a Certificate in Governance and Risk Management from the Governance Institute of Australia, and is a member the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Outside of her work, Judy is the current Board Chair of Gymnastics Victoria.

Judy is pleased to be working across the Mercy Schools as Head of People and Culture. The role draws on her experience in Human Resources Management, Risk Management and Child Protection. Judy looks forward to spending time in Mercy Schools, and to working with school leadership teams and their staff to develop or refine systems and processes.
